She was past president of the Lynnfield Center MA Woman's Club; past president of the Effingham NH Woman's Club; past district director of the North Country State Women's Club; and Secretary of the Effingham NH Grange No 313 for 15 years. Dot was also very active in politics serving as Chairman of the Effingham NH Republican Club and also found time to write a weekly newspaper column for the Carroll County Independent for many years. Her last column appeared in the February 17, 1972 edition - just after she died. She lived in Hudson NH from 1939-1952 before moving to Effingham NH, the boyhood home of her husband Allen. She lived in Effingham for the remainder of her life. For the very first time, in 1972, she and Allen went to Florida for the Winter.
